In February 2021, a number of voluntary restaurant business restrictions brought on by the pandemic were set to push veggies from the Yanbaru region out of business. Slow Food Ryukyus responded to this circumstance by holding a drive-through vegetable sales event to make sure that these veggies, which were starting to become surplus, wouldn’t go to waste.
